SAFE HANDLING

Both the leaves and the bine of hop plants are by nature rough and abrasive, in addition the hop flowers contain a substance similar to pollen called lupulin which will leave a long lasting yellow stain to clothing. Also, our fresh hops come straight from the fields are although we check they will often have naturally present aphids and insects within the garland. For your safety and enjoyment of our garlands we recommend you follow these simple instructions.

  1. Always wear gloves and long sleeves when handling the plant

  2. Avoid holding the hop garland directly in front of your face

  3. Ensure that essential clothing does not come in contact with the flowers, e.g. wedding dress.

  4. Use protective sheets to protect carpets and other nearby fabrics.

  5. On day of arrival unpack fresh hops and allow drying naturally and preferably in the planned position.

  6. Avoid positioning dry hops immediately. The garlands should be carefully taken out of the box, placed on a sheet and then allowed to absorb moisture naturally for 24 hours. This will ensure the hop garland is more pliable thus easier to handle.

  7. The hop garlands have string running next to the bine which allows for draping over hooks or securing in place.

  8. Take necessary precautions when positioning the hops at height.

  9. Our hop garlands are natural so be prepared to carefully trim any access plant where required.

  10. Hops are toxic to dogs we would advise that they are kept out of the way when handling and hanging hops.

  • All orders incurr a flat-rate shipping cost of £18

  • Orders are dispatched Monday to Thursday to avoid product delivery delays during weekends.  

  • Any orders placed prior to the hop harvesting period will be dispatched once available.

  • All garlands will be delivered by courier overnight service in a heavy duty recyclable box.

  • Once your order is dispatched you will be notified by our courier DHL with delivery information.

PAYMENT

Payments are required in advance of the despatching process and the following methods are accepted: pay-pal, visa, visa debit, master-card, maestro electron. When ordering please ensure all payment details are correct. Payment includes delivery and all prices include VAT where applicable.

RETURNS AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Hop garlands use statutory regulations to facilitate any returns or cancellations that occur. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (CCR 13) there are exemptions and no “right to cancel “for perishable goods. However we are prepared to review any orders whereby a purchaser genuinely believes that the order was a mistake and implement a “goodwill” returns procedure. Goods should be returned at purchasers’ expense as soon as practicable and normally within 5 working days. Payment for return goods will be made within 7 days providing that the goods have not been removed from the delivery box.

 

Under the statutory Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA 15) hop garlands will make a full refund of postal and goods cost where the standard of product is not met and you are dissatisfied with the quality or the goods are damaged. Any obvious signs of parcel damage on delivery should be noted when accepting the goods and signed for indicating damage. In each case please contact hop garlands as soon as possible by telephone or email to enable a timely response. The returns process will be discussed and also the appropriate course of action suitable for the circumstances.

 

Due to the perishable nature of the hop garlands all goods being retuning should be returned as soon as practicable and normally within 5 days. On receipt of the faulty goods you have the options of a full refund as stated or a replacement order.

COMPLAINTS

If you are at any time dissatisfied with the service provided by us, complains should be sent in writing to the main Hop Garland contact details below. The complaint should contain as much detail as possible in order for us to investigate and we will respond in writing within 3 weeks.
